On December 3, 2023, the vibrant community of World Mission Society Church of God members in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada, gathered for an impactful cleanup mission at the renowned Bruce Trent Park. The clock struck 8 AM as 100 eager Las Vegas and Henderson participants embarked on this noble venture.

Inspiring Cleanup Effort

The volunteers, driven by a shared purpose to shine the glory of God, orchestrated this cleanup event to forge a cleaner and safer environment for the families that congregate in this thriving community. Beyond the immediate mission, the park, a daily hub for hundreds of families, bicyclists, pet owners, and sports enthusiasts, was in dire need of restoration.

A Jewel in the Heart of the Community

Named after the esteemed Bruce Trent, the inaugural Las Vegas parks superintendent, this park features a distinctive fitness course. It is a favored venue for family gatherings and birthday celebrations. The park also hosts a weekly Farmer’s Market, enriching the community fabric.

Community Impact and Gratitude

Residents in the Summerlin area were deeply moved. A regular parkgoer expressed happiness and gratitude, emphasizing the volunteers’ fantastic contribution. She was concerned about her son’s health due to park trash, so she found their efforts highly beneficial. “Thank you so much for all you are doing in our community; it is amazing.” She also mentioned that she is always worried that her son will become sick due to all of the trash at the park. So the efforts by the volunteers were beneficial to the residents.

Beyond Expectations

As the day went on, the hardworking members kept going, and by the end of the event, they had cleaned up over 900 pounds of trash from Bruce Trent Park. This success shows that they can make a real difference when they all work together. It proves how much the World Mission Society Church of God members care about making suitable changes in their community.
